OpenAI has officially introduced GPT-5, the long-awaited new generation of its AI technology. Speaking at the launch event, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman highlighted that GPT-5 can now respond to any user query with the expertise of a “PhD-level specialist.”
The new model stands out for its advanced capabilities in areas such as software development, content creation, healthcare, and finance. GPT-5 accelerates coding workflows, delivers stronger problem-solving performance, and significantly reduces the rate of incorrect or misleading answers (“hallucinations”) compared to its predecessors.
One of the most notable changes is the end of the “model selection” era. In previous versions, users had to choose between different models, but GPT-5 eliminates this step entirely. Its advanced algorithms automatically determine the most suitable approach for complex tasks, streamlining the user experience.
GPT-5 is currently available in three configurations:
Standard – The core version optimized for general use.
Mini – A more cost-efficient option.
Nano – Designed for tasks requiring maximum speed.
While GPT-5 is accessible for free, the free tier comes with certain limitations. For users seeking advanced features and expanded usage, Plus and Pro subscription plans offer enhanced access.
